Blood Pressure (www!.theheartdiseases!.com)
Normal blood pressure level is defined as less than 130 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) for systolic blood pressure and less than 85 mm Hg for diastolic blood pressure!. The higher the blood pressure, the more likely it is to take a toll on the heart and on the brain!. Blood pressure should be checked whether or not your levels are high!. For normal, check once every two years!. For high-normal, check once a year!. If extremely high, you should get immediate care!. Then get multiple measurements to know if a high level is sustained over time!.

Hydrochlorthiazide or HCTZ is a diuretic which causes you body to excrete fluid, which in turn helps with your blood pressure!. Alprazolam (Xanax) is an anti-anxiety which would also help lower your BP!. My guess would be that you blood pressure is very high and uncontrollable!. By you BP's at top, they don't look to bad!.!.!.Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

The ideal B/P is 120/80, so it sounds like your really isn't all that high!.It would be good to try some non medication measures on your own to lower than B/P/ If the MD put you on all 3 meds at once I would be very concerned!. Alprazolam is typically used for anxiety not for high blood pressure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Diovan (valsartan) and hydrochlorthiazide are both medicines for blood pressure as well as some other heart conditions while alprazolam is an anti anxiety medication!. Even though the BP values you have given do not seem very high, there may be other co-existent conditions which require these drugs, which only your doctor can tell you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
