Answers:
Yes, look into the pump!. My wife was diagnosed at 9!. Twenty years later she finally got on the pump and is finally stable!. The pump allows you to isolate variables and understand exactly how you are reacting to insulin!. AND, you will only take the rapid acting insulin from now on!. It will result in less lows and better A1Cs!.

Here's a scenario:
Right now (off the pump), you are feeling low!. Sugar is 50!. What are your options!?
1!. Drink some juice!. (you have too much active insulin in your body and you must counter act it since you cannot reverse the previous shot) Maybe the juice will send you high, then you take a shot, then you go low, then you drink juice!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. all day long!.

On the pump, Sugar is 50!. What are your options!?
1!. Drink some juice!.
2!. Suspend the pump (you have very little insulin "waiting" to become active!. You can stop any further insulin from going in!. its like reversing a shot) You can wait for your body to correct itself in 20 min or so!. No more roller coaster!.

Plus, only one injection every three days (replace the site)!. Also, the pump will calculate how much insulin you should do for your meals!. Type in the Carbs and the Bolus Wizard figures it all out!. This means you have the freedom to eat more sweets and eat on your own schedule!

Check out this website for more information
http://www!.minimed!.com/products/insulinp!.!.!.

You will probably use a paradigm 522 (the difference is the 722 has a bigger reservoir for insulin, thats all)!. Check it out!.

You will finally feel in control of your diabetes, instead of your diabetes in control of you!.

The only drawback is money!. Truly you must have insurance in order to afford it!. The pump is around $5000 and supplies are about $200 a month!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh sweetie!.!. I feel for ya!.!. my little brother was diagnosed about the same time you were, he was only in 2nd grade know he is in the 5th, we could not get him regulated at all either!.!. I know how frustrating it can be, especially taking all of those shots!. My BF's dad is diabetic and we have the same problem!. With my brother, he just got a pump, we really !? it at first because he is very active in sports well we all are, but we didnt know, and it was probably the best thing we ever did!. It has regulated him so much!. He at first was very scared that people would make fun of him for having the pump!. Nope wrong, just explain it to your friends and how cool it actually is!. The best part is with the pump he just tells us what he has ate, and we figure up the carbs, and grams, and we plug the numbers in and it calculates how much insulin he needs on its own we dont have to do it!. and it so easy to use!. Plus we got him some really cool looking sticker pads for the site!.!. :) We love it and so does he, know we dont have to carry nearly as much stuff around with us all of the time, and we dont have to check him nearly as much either!. Def talk to your doctor about it :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

heyyoo - i was diagnosed in the 3rd grade and i am now in 8th - sucks i know i hated needles had them for aroundd 3-4 years then i found out about the pump!. my life is SO much easier now - but m not gonna liek the first couple months or so people are annoying asking what it is - mistaking it for stuff- but whatever!. its so much easier andit fits in my pocket- keeps my number down and at a healthy range and can even tell me what amount to give myself without having me to do all the math - deff!. get the MiniMed pump 715Www@Answer-Health@Com

I read in the "Sugar Busters" book which is also on audio tape (avail at the library), their food plan helped regulate the blood sugar, that the person needed less med's!. The culprits to the diet (what you need to elimate) is all white flour, sugar and rice products!. Carrots, corn, beets, molasses, honey, beer, ketchup and look to the book for the rest!.
I used to rep Integris which sells a product called Risotriene and according to testimonies from the diabedics that it helped them almost elimate taking insulin!.
We have to watch what we eat, or we eat our way to an early grave!. Have your parents check out the product!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My sister uses a pump to control her insulin!. She has had about 1/8 the reactions since on it!. It does take some getting use to, but she is able to be less strict about her diet (time and amounts) and still not have problems!.

I would suggest you look into it with your parents and physician!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you definatly need to speak with your doctor to see what options that he suggests for you!. the pump is a wonderful invention and it would probably help you a lot!.!.!.but there are reasons your doctor may not want you to get it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you mean regular bloodsugars!. I am on the pump and loving it!. It gives me so much freedom!. And my bloodsugars are much more in a straight line compared to being up and down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
