RASH! help!?!
Question: RASH! help!!?
So my lower back was itching about five hours ago and I thought nothing of it and right now i noticed from my butt to my chest is covered with pink blotches in radom places!.!.!.!.!.!.i'm on my second day of antibiotics so i don't know if thats the problem and i'm allergic!.!.!.but nothing on my face and hands and legs and i feel fine!. should i wait till tomorrow or go to the hospital!. Its a little after midnight where i am!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have you taken this antibiotic before!? If not I'd guess it's an allergic reaction!. Both myself and my child have had allergic reactions to various antibiotics, including rashes of different severities!. I think an allergic reaction rash from antibiotics looks like someone tokk a pink marker and dotted your skin with it!. There is a wide array of severity when it comes to allergic reactions!. A rash, in my experience is the least severe, especially if that is the only symptom you have!. I've even been kept on an antibiotic with a rash because it was faint and the benefit outweighed my discomfort!. Again, in my experience with medications, it usually takes about two days before the rash develops and it usually starts on the trunk (chest and back)!. I really don't think you need to go to the ER, unless of course you start have trouble breathing or something like that, but I doubt it, Severe allergies usually start very shortly after you've been exposed to the allergen and the first symptom you most likely would have had would be wheezing!. Most likely if it is a moderate allergy, you'll get a fever, diarreah, and vomiting too along with the rash and they probably would have started a little sooner!. The symptoms shouldn't get any worse if the medication is the problem and you don't take any more of it!. If I were you, I'd just stop taking the antibiotic, since most likely your next dose isn't until the morning anyway!. Just call your doctor in the AM!. They will most likely prescribe a different antibiotic for you!.

what is the abx !? and what are you taking it for !?!?need to know these things !!is the rash just on your trunk !? is it a fine pimply like rash !? is it a penicillin or derivative !? is so than you might want to stop it and take 25 mg !. of benadryl ,see if it goes away , or sometimes the itching will stop but the rash dryes up after a few days and turns brown!. but anyway as long as you are not having any breathing difficulties it can wait until morning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It sounds like an allergic reaction, and you should go to the hospital immediately!. These things have a habit of rearing their heads in very bad ways!. Have someone else drive you if possible!. You might want to call ahead and ask about antihistamines!. It might stay an itchy rash, but can also turn to anaphylactic shock!. Its always good to be sure in these cases!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
