my brother is 74 and has been drinking alcohol, and taking benzo's and sleep aids for years!. he has been seeing doctors and he wont tell me anything!. yesterday i noticed his blue fingers (peripherial cyanosis)!. He has been very tired lately as well!. I believe he is headed for a sda!. he continues to drink and take the pills and has no plans on stopping them!. I have already talked to him but he is stubborn because he was in the medical field and he thinks he knows it all!. i am curious how often people with cyanosis have sudden cardiac arrest!. i am pretty sure his heart is not doing very well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

google it and you'll find out all about it!. I am very sorry your having to deal with this!. In a cardiac arrest- you'l see the patient flop and look lifeless!.!.!. basically like a faint, but theyre heart will stop beating and you wont find a pulse- the patient cant last very long like this and needs URGENT CPR!.

Blue fingers happens when there isnt enough oxygen in the body- he needs to be checked out for damage to his lungs and blood vessels and yes also his heart!.

I would urge you to get him to get some help before its too late please- if hes very tired he could also be having a stage of liver failure which is an irriversible disease!.

Please bare in mind that we cant give any 100% accurate medical advise on here, so dont be alarmed by anything i have said- these are just possibilities!.

Email me if you need anything else!.

Take care!. xWww@Answer-Health@Com
