Question: What do you call a person who says that have different types of diseases to get attention!?
My mother says she has lupus and she tested negative for it, but she still tells people that she has it!. she also says she has fibromyalgia, macular degeneration, and a ton of other diseases!. and when doctors try to give her medicine for it she says that she is allergic!. I don't feel bad for her anymore when she tell me she is not feeling good!. Am I a bad daughter for thinking that!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hypochondriac or I think Munchaesen Syndrome!?!? For some people that is the only way they know how to get some attention, just like bad kids, sometimes they are acting out purely for attention!. Try paying special attention to her, don't feed into the lies, but ask how she's feeling or something and see if that helps the situation!. Well, on the extreme side of things, she might have Munchausen Syndrome, which is a psychiatric disorder in which people make up illnesses or create their symptoms due to a psychological need to seem ill!.
However, it sounds like she might just be lonely!. Though are you sure she doesn't have any medical reasons for feeling ill!? Some conditions can't be seen, like Fibromyalgia, and cause a great deal of suffering!. I know because I have had it for many years and it is very difficult to have!. Anyway, if you've ruled out medical problems for sure, maybe have her see a psychologist!. She might need someone to talk to , to discuss her problems with!.

shes either a hyperchondriach or suffers from munchausens where someone fabricates illnesses for attention!. Your not bad for feeling like that but unfortunately one day she really will be ill and no-one wil believe her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
