They insert a narrow tube in the artery in one hip joint!. You can be awake or asleep during the procedure!. Its actually interesting to watch the monitor and watch the results!.

You should not be scared!. Worry actually is bad for your heart and arteries!. If there is a problem, worry won't fix it!. Be glad the doctor wants to get a definitive answer so he can determine the correct treatment!. Look forward to the pain going away once he knows how to treat you!.

Get a good book to read while you recover!. You won't want to walk much for a few days after the catheterization!. Though they may go in your arm!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your doctor is wise to want the definitive answer about what's going on; be glad!. There are risks to the procedure, but there are far more risks to having undiagnosed and untreated chest pain and arm numbness!. Make sure you are going to a facility where this is done alot, like all the time!. It's best to have it done in a facility which also does open heart surgery, just in case!. But don't worry, any facility which has been licensed for the procedure is going to be OK!. By far, anything that might be found can be fixed during the procedure itself!. It only happens rarely that something is found that requires further surgery!. That really is rare!. More than likely, you'll be fine, have the exam, have whatever blockage there might be fixed, stay in bed for a day or two, and start feeling better very soon!. The hardest part is having to lie flat after the procedure, but it is very important!. If you don't you could develop a bleed, and then your hospital stay will definitely be extended!. My guess is that you'll come through with flying colors!. This is a very standard procedure these days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be scared!. I work with heart doctors who does this everyday!. Most of the patients come out fine!. It's just a small sliver on your skin, and before you know it!. It'll be over!. The best part is finding out the results are more accurate by doing this procedure!.
