Are viruses stupid?!

Question: Are viruses stupid!?
I am talking about those that progress past the "latent" stage, and begin dividing and destroying cells!. They usually end up killing the organism and thus themselves!. Isn't that a form of self-destruction!? Don't say that the virus may have been transmitted to another person- I am talking about the host only!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes!.!.!. the point of any organism is to survive and pass on it's genes!. Unfortunately for the virus the only way it can replicate and pass on it's genes is to do this within the host's cells!. And yes it destroys them!. I guess the virus has weighed the pros and cons!. Think about it!.!.!.!. if it didn't invade the host's cells at all it could not replicate, and therefore has NO chance of survival!.!.!. on the other hand, if it inhabits the cells, it risks destroying it's host, but has a greater chance at survival!. The virus is not by any means dumb!.!.!. this method has been very effective!.!.!. and in most cases, the virus wins!.!.!.!. it either doesn't destroy it's host at all (like with the common cold) or destroys it's host completly (like with HIV or ebola)!. In either case, the virus is usually is able to be passed on to someone else!. aAnd actually, hiding in the hosts cells makes it incredibly smart, if you ask me!.!.!.!. that's why viruses aren't treatable!.!.!. we would have to destroy our own cells in order to destory the virus!. Pretty good camoflauge if you ask me!Www@Answer-Health@Com

as stated, the virus does need the host cell, but then to reproduce, it needs to kill the cell to set free the new viruses so they can enter a new host cell and reproduce themselves!. Although all viruses thus are "suicidal," some appear to be smarter than others!. Maybe!. its always a losing game for the virus if you think about it!. The person either dies or the immune system kills the virus!. But how many other people was the virus able to enter before that happened!. In this aspect, maybe the HIV virus is smart, but then again, its in the latent stage so long because its not reproducing so fast!. In contrast, the Ebola virus kills the person usually too fast to sucessfully infect another person!. Its not considered a smart virus, because of its inability to spread through a population fast!. It's just too virulent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have chosen a very interesting approach to this question!. I must confess, the action of the virus you describe seems not to possess a great deal of logic!. The only thing I can say to address this is that all organisms are terminal!. No animal, plant, bacteria or virus lives forever!. To that end, a viral destruction of the host could be said to aid in the grand scheme of things!. The life cycle if you will!.

This seems almost philosophical in nature but it should cause a great number of brain cells to fire in the process of digesting the whole concept!.

I do believe it is Star time for you!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Killing the host doesn't necessarily kill the virus if it can move to another host before the first ones dies!. Besides if the only purpose of a virus is to completely take over and eventually destroy it's host, then it has fulfilled it's purpose and what else is there for it to live for!.!.!. That doesn't make it stupid, it makes it dangerous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
