Crohn's disease and Alcohol?!

Question: Crohn's disease and Alcohol!?
I'm not a heavy drink per say but I do enjoy to drink every couple of months!. Though with crohn's disease I find myself having indigestion and ruining my night!. Is there anything that I can do to help things with the stomach so that I am able to enjoy my night better and not have to worry!? I don't drink often and I don't think it's too much to ask my body to put up with it once every 100+ days!. It's not even an excess of alcohol!. I'm just wondering if anyone has either come across this problem and has found a way to help with this, or knows how to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

greetings, i am a crohn's pt!. for 29 yrs!. dxed at the age of 12!. Most crohnies tend to avoid alcohol seeing as it does bother their gut and interfere with medications that are prescribed by their GI!. It's not worth being sick just to be one of the guys!.

If you must have a drink, find something that isn't too harsh on your gut mixed with 7UP or gingerale!.

Go to the crohn's and colitis foundation association for more updated information!. they have a live chat, a hotline, and a forum where you can post questions w/others like yourself!.

wishing you a life long remission!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If indigestion is the only thing you get from Crohn's disease, you are a very ,very lucky person!.Has your Dr!. gave you any medication!? If so, you probably can't drink while taking it!.My oldest daughter has it and just recently had 21/2 feet of bowel removed because of it!.If you have the pain that she had from the attacks, then drinking would be the farthest thing on your mind at any time!.Stop even having any alcohol and your problem will be solved!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If drinking alcohol causes the sleep problem, then don't drink!. Although alcohol is included in many Rx medications, (as are oil products), Rx medications come with warnings about side effects, many say no drinking!. Discuss this issue with you doctor or pharmacy for additional information!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
