Answers:
Diabetes under pharmacological treatment is associated with increased risk of clinically apparent UTI in post menopausal women!. Basically she is more prone to UTIs due to her age and diabetes!.

The main thing you can do is to make sure that she is cleaned up properly after each urination!. Make sure whoever is responsible for her hygiene is wiping front to back and making sure she is very clean!. Bacteria from fecal matter that makes its way to the vagina (usually through improper wiping) is a main cause of UTIs!. Just because your mother is more prone to UTIs doesn't mean you can't do your best to prevent them!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's common for diabetics to get recurrent infections, and especially for older ladies to get UTIs!. Encourage your mother to drink plenty of fluids, as this prevents bacteria from stagnating in the bladder and causing infection!.
If this doesn't help, then you (or your mum, or both of you) should discuss it with her GP!. They might have a better idea what's wrong!. They might decide to put your mum on a continuous course of mild antibiotics to prevent further infections!. However, this can have side-effects, so it's a good idea to try drinking lots of fluids first, before resorting to antibiotics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
