Recurrent UTI's?!

Question: Recurrent UTI's!?
I have been getting uti's at least once a month for about 1 year!. This time has been going on for 2 weeks, on second lot of antibiotics!. The pain is the worst i have ever been in!. In my back for about the last 5 days but now in my lower abdomen/back with extreme pain and burning on urination!. Also constant urgency and pain!.

Could this be kidney stones!? What tests should I ask to be done when i go back to doctors next week!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It could be a kidney stone, or, more likely, the infection had spread from the bladder to the kidneys, causing pain!.
You don't need to ask for tests, explain your symptoms to your doctor and they'll know whether you need tests or not, and whether or not you're likely to have a kidney stone!.

Meanwhile, some ways of preventing UTIs:
Empty your bladder after you have sex (every time)!.
When you go to the toilet, wipe from front to back to prevent bacteria from entering your urethra!.
Drink plenty of fluids!.
Go to the loo as soon as you need to, don't wait until you're desperate!.

I hope you feel better soon, UTIs are nasty!. And if you get worse, contact your GP for an emergency appointment, or go to A&E!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you could be passing stones!. Just tell your doctor that you think you may be passing stones and he will run some tests!. Here's a link if you want to know what tests he/she may run or if you want to know more about kidney stones!.

My sis used to pass them all the time and always said that cranberry juice helps!. It alters three key urinary risk factors: it lowers the concentration of oxalate and phosphate, it increases the citrate concentration and it dilutes the concentration of calcium oxalate in the urine!. These results were published in the British Journal of Urology!.

Hope it helps!.

Edit: Oh and for your UTIs, make sure you are wiping properly (front to back) !. It's a common cause of UTIs, that and sex!Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is a lot of UTI's to be having!. It could be kidney stones!. Frequent and recurrent UTI's can also be an indication of chronic kidney disease, as can frequent and recurrent kidney stones!. When you go to the doctor next week ask him/her to calculate your glomular filtration rate (or GFR)!. The GFR test is the most sensitive and accurate gauge of kidney function!. The doctor will measure blood creatinine levels and perform a calculation based on age, race, and gender!. You can utilize a free online GFR calculator at mdrd!.com!. I use it all the time at work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it could be a stone, but I would ask for a cysto which mean the urologist will look in your bladder with a scope!. they will deaden the uretha with a local pain block!. A lot depends on your age and if you are having sex!. If you are having sex always urinate before and after!. Also take showers instead of baths!. Drink lots of water, some say cranberry juice!. I am suprised your dr!. didn't give you something for the pain with painful urniation!.

Hope this helps and Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com
