Answers:
a staph infection is an infection that doesn't respond to antibiotics!.In other words it stays in body/area unless removed with outside help!. i currently work in a nursing home and staph infections is something that's common(i!.e!. mrsa) it's contagious and you'll find that you'll need to do some deep cleaning to reduce risk of spreading!. MRSA for instance can stay on linens even if they've been washed and sometimes it takes weeks before "pathogens,if you will" completely die off!. as far as surgery goes it depends!. Some staph infections don't necessarily infect the whole body!. At work there was a case where a patient contracted MRSA but it was only in a open lesion on his chest!. It got removed and he is now free to be around everyone else without risk of spreading because he no longer has it!. There are also times where in which staph infections get to a point where they're not "harmful" and basically won't do anything(no purpose/it's just there)!. Just try not to worry and i would go and talk to your doctor about it!. I can only tell you so much and maybe it may not even be relevant to your case!. So go to your doctor and ask him about what steps you can take to get your situation under control!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You mean "Staph"

From Wikipedia:

"!.!.!.can cause a range of illnesses from minor skin infections, such as pimples, impetigo (may also be caused by Streptococcus pyogenes), boils, cellulitis folliculitis, furuncles, carbuncles, scalded skin syndrome and abscesses, to life-threatening diseases, such as pneumonia, meningitis, osteomyelitis endocarditis, Toxic shock syndrome (TSS), and septicemia!."

On the topic of treatment:

"Staph infection that is not antibiotic resistant can be treated in about a month (depending on severity) using antibiotics!."

But your doctor will be more specific to your son's specific needs!. In short, you should get him to the hospital ASAP and not try to treat it yourself!. It could be life-threatening!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
