Answers:
Tonsillitis is caused by the same bacteria that causes strep throat!. Swollen tonsils are usually caused by either a viral or bacterial infection, or by other irritants like dust or pollen!. If your doctor has ruled out a viral infection, asked to have a throat culture done to determine if it's a type of bacterial infection!. It's likely not truly tonsillitis, because if it was you'd be seeing big yucky pus-blotches on them by this point, I would think!. The one time I had strep as an adult (after not having it since age 4) I definitely knew what it was because of the pus!.

If it does actually end up being tonsillitis, most doctors try to treat with penicillin based antibiotics!. Removal of tonsils is a last ditch thing nowadays!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to go to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor ASAP your regular doctor didn't know what he/she was talking about!. 2 months is way toooooo long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

forget the doctor go to the hospital tell them you've had this for over 2 months and your doctor wont do anything about it see what they say!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
