yes ten years is a long time to not know about something so serious!. I don't blame yo for being mad at all, i would be fuming!. Luckily you recovered from cancer but this you won't recover from!. Have you thought about talking to a lawyer or looking more into this, im not sure if you can, but i think you need some justice xWww@Answer-Health@Com
An AIDS test is not a standard blood test given to patients!. You have to either request it yourself, or there needs to be reason for the doctor to order the test (it IS standard when pregnant, for example!.)!. Unless they do a blood test with your consent, you could go a lifetime without ever knowing about it!.
It's unrealistic, not to mention extremely costly, to expect the medical professionals to test everyone for everything regularly!. It that was the reality, then whenever I go to the doctor for a cold then he'd be testing me for every other disease on the planet!
It is your personal responsibility to get tested for AIDS/HIV regularly if you think you are at risk for it!. I'm scared for anyone you've had sex with for the past ten years, because YOU couldn't be bothered to have been tested for it!. I'm sorry, I know I sound rude, but it's true!. YOU are the one who should have kept up with your personal health!.!.!.got tested every six months if you were at risk, which obviously you were!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

there are different blood tests that have to be performed, and each you need a seperate vial of blood!. for example, if you were being tested to check your liver enzymes, they're not going to do a drug test!. in your situation, they were testing to see the spread of the cancer, not to see if you had aids!. im very sorry, and i hate to sound rude, but its your responsibility to get tested, not your testicular cancer dr!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm sorry to hear about your recent discovery!. But, doctors can not always detect everything in the human body!. Especially if it isn't something expected!. What probably happened, which may apply to you, is that the AIDS laid dormant and gradually infected your body!. Some people go for 5 years, or longer (depending on how often you do exams) and run into the situation where you have!. RegardsWww@Answer-Health@Com
Not unless they ran an HIV test!. AIDS isn't something caught on routine bloodwork!. Any abnormalities that might have clued a physician in to check for HIV could probably have been explained by the cancer!.
Did you tell your doctor that there was the possibility you'd been exposed to HIV!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

HIV testing is not routine if you have cancer why would it be!?
As somebody else said it can be undetected for a greeat number of years!.
The only time it is routine to screen for it is if you are in a high risk group or if you are donating blood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most doctor's do not routinely check for HIV unless you are having unusual symptoms, are constantly sick or ask for it!.
If you felt you were at risk for developing HIV, then it was your responsibility to ask the doctor to order the test!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

how would you know now, just diagnosed, that you had it for 10 years!? HIV testing is still not part of most basic screening testing, due to the gay rights activists passion for privacy rights!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Nope!. !. !. you were sexually active and it's up to you to get tested for std's!. Don't try to put the blame on the medical profession!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
