Question: Best Friend has Eating Disorder!?
My best friend has been throwing up and she told me but made me promise not to tell anyone!. But i think its getting bad and i dont know what to do !?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You sound like a sweet friend, being concerned about your friend's health!. This can be a very tough issue, believe me i know!. Even though your friend told you to keep her eating disorder a secret, the best thing you can do is to tell a trusted adult (parent, teacher, counselor)!. You can also sit down with her alone in a quiet place and talk to her!. Let her know that you are there for her, and that you want her to get better!. Eating disorders are touchy subjects, so you have to approach her very carefully!. Just show that you are loving and understanding!. Also, telling an adult will allow her to get the help she needs!. In the end, im sure your friend will be thankful that you told an adult, however i cannot promise that she will be thankful at first!. She may be upset with you for awhile, but it will pass and she will soon realize that you saved her life!. The same thing happened with me and my friend when i began to skip meals!. She told a teacher and at first i was angry, but i soon realized that if it weren't for her, i would have continued on the dark path i was on and i may have never gotten help!.

Tell a trusted teacher, or even her parents if you think they will help and understand (they most likely will)
I understand you don't want to betray your friend, but she could die sweetie, Im sure you know that!. Seriously, tell someone who can help!. She might be angry at you, but that will just be the eating disorder talking and not her, and when she gets better you will be her life saver and she will be so happy with you!.
