Is diabetes a sex-linked disease? are boys or girls more common to get it?!

Question: Is diabetes a sex-linked disease!? are boys or girls more common to get it!?
Answers:
No diabetes is not sex-linked!. Men are slightly more likely to develop type 2 diabetes due to environmental factors- more men are obese than women, thats about society and lifestyle choices, not the Y chromosome!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, it has nothing to do with any kind of sex at all!. It can be hereditary, but just because no one in your family has ever had it, does not mean you can't get it!. Both types of diabetes are caused by the pancreas!. In type one, your pancreas does not make any insulin at all and you are insulin dependent!. In type 2, your pancreas does not make enough insulin, OR makes too much and your body does not use it right!. This type is treated usually with oral meds, or insulin, or both!. Some times it can be controlled by diet and exercise!. It is not always caused by bad diet and being over weight!. 51% of those with type 2 were never over weight or had bad diets before they were diagnosed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
