by having a pacemaker all it does is assists your heart to beat normally!. Modern pacemakers can be fitted in anybody regardless of age and does not affect their lifespan!. The pacemaker because it has a battery has a lifespan of between 5 and 8 years and it is a simple day case admission to hospital to replace the generator!. My background is paediatric cardiology and I am looking after teenagers who had pacing systems put in when they were babies!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pacemaker patients can have a near normal life span, limited practically only by other co-existant diseases!. Usual pacemaker battery lasts 7-10 years!. It can be replaced by a minor operation because pacemake is kept just under the skin!. The operation does not need general anaesthesia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
