Answers:
My mother had a similar condition and it turned out to be a heel spur!. She works in bar management and must be on her feet for extremely long periods, so it was exacerbated by that!. I think heel spurs are fairly common, but can be very painful! Apparently the best things to do are to rest the foot by not standing for long periods of time or doing any high impact exercise!. If she can perhaps your Mum should take a few days off and just take time out to rest, and also avoid wearing any shoes that might make the pain worse!. Another thing they say you can do to aid the pain of a heel spur is to apply packs of ice to the heel or to take anti-inflammatory medication!. Anti-inflammatory pills are easy to access because some of them can be purchased without a prescription!. I don't know if what your Mum has is a heel spur but these things might perhaps help regardless!. Perhaps she ought to go back to the doctor and tell him that nothing has helped and that the pain is long term and interfering with her life!. The doctor may be able to suggest something helpful!. I sincerely hope that your Mum's pain abates and that she can start enjoying life without the pain of her foot! I think it's great that you are so compassionate as to be concerned about her health and I wish you both all the best and good luck!. I am sorry this response is so inadequate!.

Also, I found this website that lists and describes common foot problems/reasons for sore feet:

http://www!.foothealthcare!.com/html/footp!.!.!.

Information obtained from this site on 'heel care' and heel problems states that there are three kinds of heel pain, one of which is General Heel Pain which is associated with continually placing pressure on the heel and thus causing inflammation; Bursitis, which is apparently so named for being associated with the 'bursa' - the bottom of the heel - which, they say, refers to inflammation in the aforementioned area, and lastly heel spurs, like what my Mum suffered from!. It says that the causes could be shoes that don't fit properly, anatomical problems with the feet, gout, arthritis and obesity!. They say that, in addition to using ice packs and anti-inflammatory drugs, you can also try stretching exercises, special things to put inside your shoes, foot massages and heel pads for inside the shoe!. All of that can be found on the website linked above!. Good luck, and I hope your mother feels better very quickly! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like it could be Plantar Fasciitis!. Have her look at the page listed below, and if it matches her symptoms, have her contact her doctor!. I hope she gets answers (and relief) soon!. Good luck to you both!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Perhaps she even has heel spurs!? http://www!.heel-spur-treatment!.com/heel-!.!.!.
I hope that this might be some ideas for her and perhaps you might even go to a podiatrist if she has just been seeing regular doctors!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

a rhematologist could also help if there is joint swelling in the heel!. They may inject steroids to reduce swelling or other anti-inflammatory drugs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try soaking it in some warm Epsom salt water and then, have her lie down and elevate her foot!. I would try too make her an appointment to the podiatristWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should get mama a foot bath, and have her use Epsom salt, and warm water!. This will reduce the swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
