My liver enzymes are high?!


Question: My liver enzymes are high!?
My doctor told me my liver enzymes are high what does it mean!? And how could I lower them!. I have an appointment next week to have my results read with the doctor but till then im woried!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This generally reflects inflammation and your doctor will check you for hepatitis!. Some medications can cause elevated enzymes!. If you are diabetic or overweight you may develope a "fatty" liver which also may elevate the enzymes!. Finally rare metabolic diseases such as hemochromatosis(iron storage disease) can do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you drink a lot!? Alcohol has a tendancy to do this!.!.!.

high AST and ALT liver enzymes mean you have some sort of infection!. Your doctor may do Hepatitis tests next to look for hepatitis infections A,B, or C!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
