Question: Is it possible for a non diabetic to have a blood sugar of 400!?
400 after a medium size meal then really thirsy, 20 minutes later it went down to 160!.!.!.just curious if thats normalWww@Answer-Health@Com

The reason blood sugar's change!.!.!.!. you eat the sugar, the blood level goes up!. Your body produces insulin, so it goes down!. It's FINE as long as it goes down on it's own to within normal ranges!. Within an hour, it should be normal!. If it's not, then you may need to worry!. but I think you are ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think that you have a diabetic tendency!. Fat is the major cause of diabetes!. Eliminate hard fats like cheese, butter, and deep fried foods like KY Fried chicken and you will get your deabetic tendency to disappear!. go see your doctor and he/she will set you up with a glucose tolerance test and that will let them know for sure!. You might be in the beginning stages of diabetes so if you catch it now that could be a good thing and then you could probably control it with your diet!. The proper way to check your blood sugar is in the morning before you have not had anything to eat or drink after midnight!. Normal glucose levels fall between 70 and 150 mg!. Note: that's fasting!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
A normal fasting glucose level is under 110!. If your fasting level is over 126 on 2 consecutive tests you are considered diabetic!.

no not normal!. you need to go to doc!. and he will draw an ac1 it covers your results for several months back!.and he will be able to tell if you are a diabetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Someone with a properly functioning pancreas and who is not insulin resistant should never reach the 400s!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
