Trichotillomania is a lot more common than people think!. A lot of people suffer from this!. It is just like many of the other things people suffer from such as cutting!. It is another way of getting out the stress, pain, etc!. out of your system even though it may not be in the healthiest way!. I myself have been suffering from trichotillomania since sixth grade and now I am a junior in college!. Mine is a little different because I pull out my eyelashes as well as some hair form my head!. It usually happens when my hands are not occupied!. I also suffer from general anxiety disorder and panic attacks so that is probably where the trich developed from!. My advice would be to go see a couselor to talk things out!. Medication did not work for me, and talking things out helped some!. I hope this helps, let me know if you need to know any more about it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i used to have it really bad when i was little!. i would mess with my hair until it turned into a knot and then i would pull it out!. i actually had a bad spot on the right side of my head!. then my parents cut my hair really short, and i started doing it to the hair at the nape of my neck!. i'm not nearly as bad as i used to be, but i still pull on my hair, usually by pulling off the parts with breaks, split ends, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
