Is Benadryl good to take for allegic reactions such as hives?!


Question: Is Benadryl good to take for allegic reactions such as hives!?
Allegic to amoxicillin and broke out in hives on my back!. It hasn't spreaded to much because I'm trying not to scratch!. I was told that Benadryl is the best thing to take for it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yup! benadryl is a histamine blocker!. When you have an allergic reaction the histamins are release into your blood stream!. Sometimes icing the areas will help reduce the welts because it constricts the blood vessels and reduces the swelling!. Taking the Benadryl will block the histamines from being released into your blood stream but it will cause drowsiness!. I find that liquid benadryl (Children's) works much faster than the pill form!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes, my husband got a allergic reaction to Malt, he got hives that covered his back and arm, the benadryl worked right away and he only needed to take two!. Everybody should keep it in their medicine cabinets!.!.!.just in case!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It works great for me!!! try starting with only 1/3 of a pill!. If that works, it's enough!. If not, take another third!. The stuff is acutely as lo used to induce sleep, a sleeping pill!. Careful!. don;t overtake!. I usually take 1/3 or 1/2!.!.!.If I took a full one, I'd be out 15 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes, take 25 or 50 mg of benadryl!. and go to the hospital if it worsens, hives on your face, or any difficulty breathing or facial swelling!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used to get hives and Benadryl did wonders for me!. The hives cleared up very quickly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
