Can long term use of earplugs cause inner ear problems?!

Question: Can long term use of earplugs cause inner ear problems!?
OK, hubby snores like a pneumatic drill, so I have worn earplugs every night of my life as routine for about ten years!. I often wake up in the middle of the night and have taken them out - rarely wake up with them still in!. It is only trying to get to sleep with the noise that is a problem! I have recently had weird bouts of dizziness, especially when waking up and still lying down, I feel really giddy and the whole room spins!. Going to the doc soon, but I wonder if I have damaged my inner ear!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

i wear earplugs too, as the slightest noise wakes me up!. at the moment i have an ear infection too!. i woke up this morning in agony, and the pain was even worse when i managed to take my earplug out of my right ear!. i'm starting to think that because fresh air isn't reaching your ear canal, it might be becoming slightly damp during the night, and therefore becoming more prone to infection!.

it does sound like u have an inner ear infection - or possibly vertigo!. u need to get yourself to the doctors & get it checked out!. just don't try driving !

i doubt that it'll be a long term problem - probably more like something that can be treated with anti biotics, or possibly a steroid spray (i've been given both in the past for ear infections!.) as for your husband snoring, has he tried wearing one of those nasal strips, or using that anti snoring nasal spray that u can buy from the chemists !? it's worth trying ! other than that, i'd be sleeping in the spare room untill my ear was better, if i were u!.

i'd be interested to know what the doctor's opinion of earplugs is!. it might mean that i have to rethink wearing them too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you have an inner ear infection called Labrythitis (not sure of the spelling of it) My Mum has had it several times!.
I'm not a doctor but from what experince I have of inner ear problems with people I've known, wearing ear plugs wont damage your inner ear completely but as your wearing them at night any natural fluid you have that would normally drain out (I know it sounds revolting but thats the human body for you) can't drain out because of the ear plugs, and thus you have an infection!.
Anti biotics usually work well and change the ear plugs on a regular basisWww@Answer-Health@Com

I hope you haven't worn the same pair !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.it may just be a coincidence that you use ear plugs but it's best to get it looked atWww@Answer-Health@Com
