Has anyone had tubes put in childs ears?!

Question: Has anyone had tubes put in childs ears!?
My 7 year old son has had an ear infection since the beginning of April!. He went on Biaxin for 10days!. His eardrum burst on day 9!. We took him back in and got 7 more days of Cepro!?!?!? (I don't know how to spell it) went back to the Dr!. at the end of the 7 days!. She thought it looked okay but wanted us to go back 10 days later!. That would have been this coming Friday!. Well on Monday his eardrum ruptured again! It was only just Thursday and the Dr told us the drum was intact!. He is now on his 3rd round of antibiotics Pediazole and has been told if this doesn't work he will need to get tubes!. Has anyone had this happen or had this done!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aww poor baby, I know exactly how he feels :(

my daughter had ear infection for a long time when she was about a year and a half old!. First they put her on this medicine then when that didn't work they put her on that, etc!. I kept going back and when nothing worked I threw a fit to her pediatrician and they put tubes in her ears!. I don't recall her ear drum bursting, however, I have had so much crap done to my ears that if I were in your position, I would ask your doctor to refer you to an Ears nose throat doctor and see what they say, because obviously these medications aren't working for him!.!.!.!.!. And I would hate to see him have permanent hearing loss!.

This is why I don't like doctors :(

after 9 differents tries with antibiotics my 7 month old got tubes!. Hallelujah! best thing we ever did!. Went to an Ear Nose and Throat, had them inserted in the hospital in surgery!. He came out of recovery smiling, and no more earaches!. By the time they fell out several months later his ear tubes had matured and had no more infections!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My son had chronic ear infections and finally had tubes put into his ears just after his 2nd birthday!.

Very simple operation and it did the trick!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've actually had 3 sets of tubes in my childhood!.
they are there to just release fluid and such from behind the eardrum to the external, due to a blockage/imflammation of the estachian tube!.

it was later found that i had enlarged adnoids that cause this blockage!. CHECK THAT!.

be wery!. my mom now regreat the tubes due to quiality of life i had
set 1- 3 years old 1 full year
set 2 5 years old 1-11/2 years
set 3 7 years old about 2-2 1/2 years

that last since it was in for such a long time casue a permanent hole in the drum!.

2 drum patches later (first one failed- which was a cirgarrett type paper used to fill the hole) the second one took!.

to patch the 2nd one, it was constructed from membrane off my skull (externally) but when it healed, my drum healed in a bad way, concaved instead of out warward like this ( or this way )

(parenthesis represent the drums) i do have some hearing damage now in my adult hood, i wonder could have been prevented!.

best advice----SHOP AROUND!.

hope you child dosent like to swim in the summertime, cause my summer fun consisted of no water in the ears!.

good luck

p!.s!. tube for a ruptured eardrum could only be utilized for removal of fluid, I think he needs somting other than tubes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
