I would like to say that I admire you and your husband!. I think that if you can deal with the past and live in the here and now,and willing to help give your dad a future is probably one of the things that will bless your family and bring you to a closer family!. Providing that your husband and dad are compatibleYes, they do allow some organ donations before a death has occurred!. I believe that whatever happened with you and your dad is your own business!.Bless you and your husband for your compassion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most transplant centres in the US and Canada only do kidney transplants between people of the same blood type!.

(A minor exception: Some people with blood type A actually have what's called "A2", which is compatible with Type O!. However, this only applies to a small percentage of Type A people!.)

Some big transplant centres are doing what's called "ABO-incompatible" transplants, but often additional treatments like plasmapheresis will be needed beforehand!.

Finally, just because two people are of the same blood type does not guarantee a "match"!. There are many other ways for a recipient to reject an organ, so further tests (called cross-matching) will be needed!.

Let's see!. Your father abandoned you at birth, never cared for you, never paid anything for you, and you would ask your new husband to donate one of his own kidneys to help this stranger you call your father!.

You have to be out of your mind or may be you don't love your new husband which is even worst!.

Kidney donation happens at DEATH!.

Why would you even ask your new husband to donate one of his own kidneys to a stranger who never cared for you!?

Do you really want your husband to abandon you the way your father abandoned you at birth, because you don't love or even respect your husband!?

You have a few issues to discuss with a psychiatrist!. And I suggest that you refrain from having babies until your situation is clarified!. At the very least, you have very poor judgment and you don't love your husband!. Check your priorities!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It actually has to be a match on more than just blood group!.

However I think in the US there is a program where people who would donate for family but can not because there isn't a match can be listed!. Then they try to find a "swap", where someone's family member gives to your dad and then your husband gives to that persons family member!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry to hear Sara!. I had experience of my uncle donate his kidney to his sister!. It was successful and they still alive but to transplant kidney is very important for both parties, donor and receiver!. It can claim life!. The donor must be in good health and free from diabetes and high blood pressure!. Of course, blood must be same and for the best DNA should be same or most nearer!. Pray for his luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Kidney matching has to connect on at least 5 of 6 factors!.
If your husband is a different blood type then there isn't a match!. The donated kidney would cause death, not prolong life!. The hospital would not do the transplant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im sorry to say that he would have to be a match (same blood type), but that is great that he would want to do something so honorable for your dad!. You have a great guy!Www@Answer-Health@Com
