Answers:
MS is a disease of the central nervous system!. The brain is effected in different ways!. For some people, it affects speech, short term memory, eye sight because of Optic Nerve damage, mobility or paralysis, depending on where the scar tissue is in the brain or spinal cord!.

There is no cure as of now, but there are so many disease modifying drugs out here to slow down the progression!. Someone suggested webmd!.com, that is a great source of information!. Also, the MS society has information, pamphlets, etc!. that they would happy to send to you!.

Please don't be scared that he won't remember you, more than likely the memory problems will be short term things, such as a name of someone, where he put the keys, etc!. And you can help by writing the info down, remind him where he put the keys at, or where the car is parked at the store, etc!.

Check to see if there is a support group for children of people with MS, or better yet, get involved with the MS walk, the MS bike ride, fund raisers!.

MS does not affect the brain in that way to cause the loss of memory!. MS is a disorder that affects the brain but it mainly has to do with physical movement capabilities!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

MS effects the brainwaves controlling the nerves so he may lose the ability to walk if he hasn't already but it won't effect his memory!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
