Does any one know where i can get a free meter and strips for monitaring my bloo!

Question: Does any one know where i can get a free meter and strips for monitaring my blood sugar levels!?
Answers:
when my family doc said i had type 2 she sent me to an endocrinologist!. 1st thing she did was hand me a free meter from abbott, which included a starter pack of lancets and strips!.

since then i get lancets and strips at the drug store!. my insurance covers both, with a copay!. the lancets cost about $10 for 100, but the strips are expensive! just under $1 each! my copay is $20 for a box of 100!.

abbott has a new meter that doesn't require a control solution!. but the strips for this new meter are more expensive!.

in consultation with your doc figure out which types/brands of meter would be best for you, and then ask your pharmacy their prices for lancets and strips for each meter, especially if you don't have insurance!. then pick the meter with the cheapest supplies!.

i have no idea how to get free strips, just a free meter!.

when my 1st meter started to act strangely, even with new batteries, abbott replaced it at no charge!. they also supply the control solution at no charge!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The One Touch Website everyone is talking about is not on their web site, I've been to it and can't find anywhere it talks about getting a free meter, to get a free meter you have to go to www!.onetouchgold!.com/simplestart
and fill out the information and in a couple weeks you will have your new meter and it comes with everything you need to get started including a vial with 10 test srtips!. But you will need to get a script for more if you want your insurance to pay for it and if you want to pay cash you do not need a script for test strips and lancets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most drug stores have coupons for discounts on meters, but the test strips are never free or discounted!. That's how the manufacturers make their money!. Wal-Mart has the Reli-On brand, and other drug stores like Walgreens have generic meters and strips that cost about 30% less than the main brands!. That's about as good as it gets!.!.!.it's expensive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
