Do I have sleep apnea?!
Question: Do I have sleep apnea!?
For the past several months I have been experiencing what I think may be sleep apnea!. I have looked at numerous web pages trying to figure out if this is what I have but I can't find an answer!. It only happens every couple of weeks or so but it is really scary!. Right as I am falling asleep I will wake up gasping for air and this will continue through the whole night, so I don't get any sleep!. The weird thing is, is that it only happens as I am falling asleep, never in the middle of my sleep!. And it is very sporatic, not an every night event!. The past couple of times this has happend, I will wake up gasping for air and then I get a sharp pain that shoots from my chest to arms and legs!. The pain only lasts for a second!. That pain wasn't described in any of the articles I read!. So I am wondering, has anyone else had this problem!? Is it sleep apnea!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

This sounds very much to me like the same symptoms of a panic attack!. A number of years ago I had exactly the same symptoms but thank God I am now free from it!. Every symptom you describe is exactly what used to happen to me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Most people who have sleep apnea don't know it!. it happens when they are asleep!. You may have OSA!. One key symptom is snoring!. Do you snore!?

You need to be diagnosed at a sleep clinic!. But this sounds like "sleep panic" or "night terrors"!. It may also be that you are snoring and are waking yourself up!. Snoring has been linked to increased risk of sleep apnea and stroke!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
