Answers:
ok!. don't listen to that first person!. They aren't very smart!. Most of the population gets cold sores!. You are not the only one!. Most people get them at some points in their life!. I really do not see why you are worrying!.!.!.especially since you don't even get cold sores!. You aren't going to spread cold sores when you don't have one by kissing him and just because your ex had genital herpes doesn't mean you got it!. I wouldn't just assume you have it until you get checked out by a doctor!. You are worrying too much!. There is a good chance you didn't even get it!.!.!.!.stop worrying so much and relax!. You're fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Like I have said in a few postings!. Get tested, Your doctor can test for Herpes I and II!. Yes, yes, yes you CAN have aysmtomatic shedding of the herpes virus even without symptoms and spread it!. But they have medications that work wonders to suppress herpes!. The vitman L-Lysine works good do (not a sub for meds though)!. Anyway, 80% of the population has Herpes I (mainly found on the mouth) and 30% has Herpes II (mainly on the genitals) But you can get both kinds in both places!. Chances are your boyfriend could have it already himself! You might not have it, often (but not always) the first outbreak can't be missed and cold sores/fever blisters are herpes my friend!. get tested, talk to a doctor you'll feel a ton better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There seem to be a few misconceptions here!.

First, there are two kinds of herpes!. HSV1 usually infects the mouth, but can infect the genitals!. HSV2 usually infects the genitals, but can infect the mouth!. When you say "herpes" but don't clarify, we don't know which one you think you have, or which one your ex-BF has!.

Second, most people have oral herpes!. 50% of teenagers and 80% of people over 50 have the oral herpes virus!. So yes, you probably have it - but you probably didn't get it from your ex-BF!. You probably got it (like most people) in childhood from kissing relatives!.

Third, herpes (either kind) can indeed be spread when there are no symptoms!. It is spread through skin-to-skin contact, though!. So you will NOT give him genital herpes just by kissing him on the mouth!. You can give him genital herpes by giving him oral sex, though!.

Because so very many people have oral herpes, and because the only way to prevent transmitting it is by not kissing, most people just don't worry that much about oral herpes!. Don't kiss anyone if/when you have a cold sore!. But don't worry too much about giving it to your new BF!.

For more info on herpes, both oral and genital, and how it is spread, I recommend the website below!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You CAN have and spread either oral or genital herpes and not know it!. And my little sister just found out the hard way that having oral sex when your partner has a cold sore is a good way to spread the wealth, now she has genital herpes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you talking about genital herpes or just the kind from kissing!? It is possible to transmit it, even without visible signs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

although not likely, it is still possibly to transmit the herpes virus when there are no visible sores!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

omg!.!.!.STop kissing him!.!.!.!.do u even care about his health!? juz because u have it doesnt mean u should give it to him!.!.!.TELL HIM u have it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to tell him and he will dump you i bet i am sorry you have that i feel badWww@Answer-Health@Com

OK!.!.!.here is a break down!.

In reality, his chances of getting it depends on, of course as you know, whether you are having an outbreak, AND which type of herpes you have!.

There are two types:

HSV1 (Commonly called Oral herpes) - you can get HSV1 genitally, but it is said that people who have HSV1 orally are less likely to contract it genitally due to the fact that their body has already built up antibodies to it!. Also, HSV1 has less viral shedding, meaning that you have like a 2% chance of spreading it when no symptoms are present (no sores)!. On the flip side of that it is highly contagious when sores are present!.

HSV2 (also referred to as genital Herpes)- So far, there has been no documented cases of HSV2 occuring anywhere but genitally!. HSV2 has a higher rate of viral shedding making the chances of spreading it during times of no symptoms more likely!. As with HSV1, HSV2 is most contagious during actualy outbreaks!. HSV2 only seems to shed through direct physical contact (private part to private part), whereas HSV1 can be transferred, meaning that if i have a sore on my mouth and use a straw then you use it after me, you are at risk of getting it!.

The big thing to realize here is that HSV1, although commonly known as Oral Herpes, can occur genitally!!!

It's important to know which kind you have!.

If you have never been tested you should get tested if you think you may have it, especially if you think you have it genitally!.

Also, know that something like 85% or more of the people in this world have HSV1!. If you have EVER had a cold sore on your mouth, then you have HSV1!. I mention this because you said you never had an outbreak!. The BEST test results for HSV are from a culture swab of an actual sore, since you have no sores they will do a blot test (blood) which will detect HSV antibodies!. Know that if you have ever had a cold sore on your mouth, you will test positive for HSV1 antibodies, that doesn
