Answers:
standard precautions!. not something you have to divulge to patients!. just like you wouldn't have to divulge HSV or HPV or HBV, HCV, or HDV!.
you are correct!. standard precautions!.

yes justin!.!.!.even in the ER, it is still just standard precautions!. believe me when i tell you that accidents can happen anywhere!.!.!.not just the ER where it is busy!. i have seen MD's accidentally cut themselves with a scalpel in the OR, i have seen them do it LOTS of times at the bedside putting in a chest tube in a patient (you need a scalpel to make the hole)!. i have seen MDs try to recap needles (a big no-no) and get stuck!. i have seen them also cut themselves and bleed right into the patients open wound!. all accidentally, of course!. and who knows if they had HIV!?!?!?
justin, it happens!.
accidents happen!.
but it is still standard precautions!.
there are no gloves strong enough to withstand a sharps puncture!. believe me!.!.!.we wish there were, but there just isn't!.

fantastic question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Anything more than standard precautions are simply unnecessary!. Even if the doctor is dealing with a patients open wound, the chances of transmission would be extremely smallWww@Answer-Health@Com
