Meneire's Disease?!

Question: Meneire's Disease!?
I have been having problems with dizziness and balance/unsteadiness!. My doc thinks that I have inner ear!.
Along with this if I have a bad spell which usually happens late evening or if I wake through the night I will feel nauseated!.
I have headaches that feel like tension headaches and my eyes feel jittery when I move them to the left or right!.
I am going for a CT scan on the 15th but I am nervous that there is something else going on!. Has anyone had inner ear and if so what symptoms did they have!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Your doc's explanation makes sense!. You probably know that the structures of the inner ear are responsible for balance!. So you've probably already put that as an explanation of your dizziness!.

Your jittery feeling eyes also fit in with your docs diagnosis!. Because you have these structures in your inner ear called the semicircular canals, that are essentially gyroscopes!. There's a reflex arc between them and your eyes!. That's why when you walk around and film it on a video camera the image bounces all around but when you walk around using your eyes to see the image doesn't bounce around (because these clever little gyroscopes keep the image stable by controlling your extraocular muscles)!.

(Just as an interesting side note: that reflex is one of the ways they test if someone is brain dead as it is usually one of the last to go)

So since these structures are tied in with your eyes a problem in your inner ear would also mess with your eye movement!.

The nausea could also be explained by your dizziness and the sense of vertigo that accompanies it!.

Try not to worry too much, because your doctor's diagnosis does make alot of sense!.

Inner ear infections, better known as otitis media can be googled for you to compare symptoms with!. It almost sounds as if though you're either pregnant (if you're a female), you could have vertigo, or perhaps maybe gallbladder problems which usually attack at night (if the gallbladder has already been removed, then you can research pancreatitis)!.

Try googling your symptoms, as well as the few things that I listed, see if anything really "clicks" when you read up on it!. If so, print out the info and bring it to the docs to discuss!. Having yourself armed with knowledge is your best bet!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
