weed is a depressant but also a stimulant!. when you first take it your arteries constrict and your heart rate goes way up so that you can maintain a steady flow of blood to your organs but after your heart rate goes up you get "high" and the electric impulses in your brain get slowed causing you to feel relaxed!.
