Sounds like Keratosis Pilaris!. Many people have this, it can be hereditary, or a new occurrence!. I have it as well as 2 of my children!. Basically what it is is the dead skin cells aren't sloughing off and are building up in pores and hair follicles etc!. This combined with the natural oils and sebum produce a plug if you will that blocks the follicle or pore, resulting in those reddish/purplish bumps!. The good news is, there are several products available which help reduce the appearance of the bumps if not get rid of them altogether!. The bad news though, is that there is no cure for this condition, if you have success with the lotion or cream, you generally have to keep using it because when you stop it will come back!. I have also found that mine seems to improve during the summer, I think the sun exposure helps it, but I have to resrt to the lotions again when the winter comes!. Talk to your doc, he can prescribe one of the lotions for it or you can google Keratosis Pilaris, there are some over the counter lotions that people have used that work!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

a lot of people have that actually!. i have a couple spatterings of small bumps on the backs of my upper arms!. no idea what it is!.

i wouldn't worry about it!. i think it's just a skin thing!. i don't think anyone is really going to think less of you because of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
