She should eat about 6 to 8 small meals a day high in good carbs and have healthy snacks with good carbs!. (peanut butter crackers or granola bars are some really good ones) Get a dietitian or a nutritionist to help you with her diet and meal plans!. Normal readings for some one that is not diabetic are 75 to 110!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Normal blood glucose levels for most anyone is between 90 and 120 or 130!. My husband has diabetes and I pack a snack pack of mandarin oranges for his lunch everyday!. He also has a couple of turkey sandwiches, his job is strenuous, kind of like a kid playing!. The bread gives him the carbs that he needs and the fruit is refreshing and helps his blood glucose levels stay stable throughout the day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have been to a lot of doctors so what i do know is have her stay away from salt as well!.!.!. it also depends on her height and weight not so much age anymore!.!. some have more mature bodies than others!.!.!. good luck and i wish her wellWww@Answer-Health@Com

The normal for children is the same as adults 60-110!. The A1C level is fine, generally levels are about 8 in poorly controlled diabetics!. The fasting is high - are you taking it in the morning when she has been asleep!? If so the growth hormones and steroids that are naturally secreted at night could be the cause of this, as they both raise blood sugars!. This can be caused by the dawn phenomenon or the somogyi effect!.

Who ever you talked to is right, hypoglycemia is far more damaging than hyperglycemia!. Try giving her a snack right before bedtime - I would suggest peanut butter crackers!. And then take a fasting in the morning and see if it isn't decreased!.

The 140 is high - I would like to know how long after eating she gets a reading that high!? Generally you should wait 2 hours after meals to test, this gives the body enough time to use the sugar!.

As far as the diet, you would want to avoid carbs and fats - but not entirely!. It would be best to consult with a dietician - diets can be highly individualized!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
