Answers:
Lots of things can cause bone deterioration!. Osteoarthritis is the most common one!.!.!. it usually onsets after age 50, and it's basically just natural wear and tear of the joints!. The most likely cause would be something related to diet!. Inadequate calcium intake would do it!. Your body needs vitamin D in order to use calcium, so a vitamin D deficiency would also cause bone deterioration!. A less likely condition that would cause localized deterioration is avascular necrosis which that occurs as the result of a previous injury!. Basically the blood supply to the bone is compromised and bone death occurs at that area!. You have to have a previous injury (like a fracture) for this to occur!. Osteomyelitis (bone infcection) can cause localized dterioration (on whatever bone is infected), but would not cause all bones to deteriorate!. Also, some medications can cause weakening and deterioration of the bones!. Steroids in particular, are notorious for creating weakened bones systemically (all over the whole body)!. This is why steroid use is not intended as a form of long term therapy!. Also, bone malignancies can cause localized bone deterioration and pathological fractures!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Age!.

Your body is constantly eating away at it's bone - this is how red blood cells are created!. Normally not a problem because your body is simultaneously creating new bone cells at the same time!.

As we get older, this process slows down and we don't regenerate as fast as we use it so our bones become weak and brittle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
