Diabetic neuropathy in the feet?!

Question: Diabetic neuropathy in the feet!?
The Dr!. poked my wife's toes and feet with a short piece of monofiliment nylon -- resembled 100# test fishing line!.

She now how has no sensation in her toes and most of her feet!.

Since she carefully measures her blood sugar and takes insulin, why is this getting worse!?

How long until she gets gangrene or other complications!?

Are there therapies, like massages or water baths, that can stop the process!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Neuropathy is damage to nerve endings!. Nothing can reverse the damage!. This does not mean your wife will get gangrene!. As long as she takes good care of her feet, and checks daily for blisters, or wounds on the feet and has the doctor take care of them, she will be ok!. This is a very common thing with diabetics!. It can also affect the hands, arms and legs and even the face!. It has nothing to do with circulation, so massages are not that benificial!. Being on her feet a lot can make it feel worse!. Good blood sugar control can help keep it from getting worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No matter how welll controled the diabetes is after a long period of time Neuropathy is a side effect of the disease!. Be careful that the feet dont get injured and watch stepping into a bath tub check the temp!. with the hand first to assure it wont cause burns!. When cutting toe nails file them with an emery board srtaight across dont clip them!. Inspect the feet everyday for injuries and wear closed toe closed heal shoes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
