Question: Unusual itching on my 8 yr old son, no visible cause,Can you help!?
8yr old son has a severe itch on the top of his toes athletes foot and nail fungus has been ruled out, there is no rash, bumps, cracking nothing of any kind!.If you put socks or shoes on his feet, within seconds he is itching really bad(it itches without anything on as well, but putting something on them makes it alot worse, tried antifungal cream and liquid, hydrocortisone cream, benadryl cream, soaking in epsom salt, they only thing that helps is Benadryl taken orally, but that only works until the medicine wears off and he still can't wear tennis shoes or socks even with the Benadryl!.We have not changed anything like soaps, laundry detergent, shampoos,no new foods or drinks, no new clothing, bedding towels or anything!. I am so lost and don't know what else to do!.Has anyone else had this experience!?
I have searched the internet to no avail, asked in other forums!.Please help, if you know of anything that may help or if you think you might know what it could be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Have you had him tested for allergies !?
How about OCD - I know it sounds like a reach but he could hate the feeling of shoes/socks and the itch is his 'reaction'
What about a blood count to make sure he has normal cells (no diabetes) which can cause sensation in the feet!.

I'd make an appointment with his doctor again if he doesn't stop (is the scratching making his skin raw)Www@Answer-Health@Com
