You will do great and be back to your old self!.!.!.after allowing time for your body to heal!
I'm an operating room nurse and assist with ACLs often!. It is a big procedure and can take anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 4 hours!. You "sound" young, so it's probably a sports injury; just remember that you must rest after this surgery!. Do you know if your surgeon is using a donor graft or using your own tissue!. They are done using your hamstring or patellar tendon!. Again, it is a big surgery; he/she will probably put you in a brace, often with an ice pad in the brace!. You will get physical therapy, I assume!. It takes time! If your doctor tells you to stay off of it for two weeks; do it! How you heal depends on how you follow doctor's orders!. This is serious!. Normally, an ACL reconstruction is done in an out-patient setting!. Good luck to you; let us know how you do!Www@Answer-Health@Com

well!.!.!.to my experience patients satisfaction after acl surgery approaches 90%!.!.!.it depends on what level of activity u had been on before the injury and of course on the surgeon's experience!.!.!.!.instability and giving way of the knee would be resolved and the most common comment heard from those patients that they feel that their knees are" not as they used to be " though i don't call this a complication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
