Laughter and diabetes?!

Question: Laughter and diabetes!?
The japhanese have discovered that laughter lowers blood sugar, and from personal experience i discovered that its true!. I use to have to check my blood sugar and laughter has lowered it every time!. The first time i tried it lowered my sugar from 116 to 86, another time it lowered it two different times when my sugar was between 130 and 140 after eating a big meal it lowered to 90 at one time and then to 80 something!. So its a good idea to laugh after you eat to keep your blood sugar normal!. My father had diabetes but he died of phenomia at 79 i think he was that age!. I'm just trying to help people with the disease and to help people to prevent getting it!. Laughter has worked wonders for me!. You usually have to laugh about 4 or 5 times to get your sugar from 100 or over down to 90 or 80 something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

P>Laughing After Meal Lowers Blood Sugar Levels Naturally</P>
By Daniel J!. DeNoon
WebMD Medical NewsMay 28, 2003 -- Diabetes isn't funny!. But the newest way to improve diabetes treatment is a hoot!.

Laughter, Japanese researchers find, lowers blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes!. Seriously!. The findings appear in the May issue of Diabetes Care!.

The findings bear out the advice of Norman Cousins, the famous editor widely known as "the man who laughed his way to health!." Laughter, he said, is a form of internal jogging!. He was right, according to a study by Keiko Hayashi, PhD, RN, of the University of Tsukuba in Ibaraki, Japan!.

Hayashi's team collected blood-sugar measurements from 19 people with type 2 diabetes before and two hours after a meal!. After dinner on the first day, the patients attended a boring 40-minute lecture!. No jokes were told!. On the second day, the same dinner was followed by a 40-minute comedy show (manzai, a popular form of stand-up comedy in Japan)!.

The patients laughed well!. They rated their laughter as 4 or 5 on a 5-point scale!. Their after-meal blood sugar went up after the comedy show -- but much less than it did after the lecture!. Even in healthy subjects without type 2 diabetes, a similar response to the laughter was seen!.

Laughter, the scientists conclude, is good for people with diabetes!. They suggest that chemical messengers made during laughter may help the body compensate for the disease!.

Therefore, Hayashi and colleagues say, people with diabetes should laugh every day!. Well, they don't really say it that way!. They put it in scientific jargon!.

"In conclusion," they write, "the present study elucidates the inhibitory effect of laughter on the increase in postprandial [after meal] blood glucose and suggests the importance of daily opportunities for laughter in patients with diabetes!."
That does seem funnier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I guess I'd believe that!. Laughter also reduces stress and I'm sure that many diabetics know that stress can cause your blood sugar to rise a little!. Get a 2 for 1 deal I suppose!. WhooHoo!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Laughter is a good medicine for a lot of things!. It's also very good for high blood pressure!. But remember, it is not a cure and you still have to take your meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, they always say laughter is the best medicine!. I do know that depression really messes up the ole bod!. I'll try to crack a joke once in a while!. ;-]
be well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
