I had some viruses in my liver!. Can this result in a distended belly!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You should be checked to see if you have
Ascites, which is fluid build up inside
the abdomen!. The doctor can sometimes
tell upon examination if that is the case!.
You said you had a virus!.!.!.if this is
Hepatitis A,B,C,etc!.!.!.!.then it is possible
it has advanced to cirrhosis of the liver!.

When the liver cells become damaged,
usually it starts out as inflammation!.
If the inflammation is not treated and
the Hep virus continues, it can lead
to the death of the liver cells and the
functions that the liver once did start
to decline!. One of these functions
is to make a protein, known as albumin,
which holds the fluid in our vessels!. When
this protein goes low in the body!.!.!.then
fluid seeps out of these vessels and into
the abdominal area!.

I would check with your doctor about this!.
It takes a few blood tests!.!.!.like the liver
enzymes and the liver function tests and
also the virus tests to see exactly may
be happening in your case!. The liver
isn't an organ to fool around with!.!.!.!.without
treatment it can go into failure!.
The liver is a very quiet organ as far
as showing signs and symptoms!. They
do not start to appear normally until
after the function of the liver is hampered!.
There are many people walking around
with these viruses and don't even know they
have them!. Please get checked as
soon as possible!. The faster you get
care, the better chance of catching this
early on!.
I hope this is of some help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. When the liver is not able to function properly, it can lead to ascites (fluid accumulation in the abdominal cavity)!. Ascites can be treated with diuretics or by having the fluid drained in the hospital, but if the cause of the ascites is not fixed, it will probably happen again!. Ascites is a sign that the liver is failing and probably indicates you need to be evaluated for a liver transplant or possibly treatment for the virus you have (hep c!? hep b!?)!. You must see a specialist immediately!. A gastroenterologist or hepatologist can help you!. Best wishes to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
