Red boil-like thing on face.?!

Question: Red boil-like thing on face!.!?
It's right below my nose and above my mouth!. I thought it got infected (turned deeper red, quite painful) so I went to the doctor!.

He prescribed me clindamycin (oral) and mupirocin (cream)!. Both are antibiotics!. However, he wasn't sure exactly what it even was!. I began taking the antibiotics a day ago, it seems to have gone down significantly already!. It's a light pink now, it's still a little raised though!. An little scab in the center!. Almost completely painless, finally!.

I have a dermatologist appointment in about 2 and half weeks, just in case it doesn't go away, but the antibiotics seem to be working well!.

Does anyone know what this thing could have been, considering what the doctor prescribed for me!? I had this thing for a while, and I'm pretty sure it will leave a very minor scar, but that's not a big deal!. Also, do you think the antibiotics will finish it off!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It could be a form of staph infection!. I got a spider bite on my elbow last summer and it turned into staph!. It had a puss looking think in the middle where the two little bite marks were!. It hurt soooo bad!. I finally took tweezers and pulled the puss thing out (after like 3 weeks) and it looked like some sort of core!. It left an open gaping hole!. So, I immediately went to the doctor, and he said it was a staph infection and he gave me some pill antibiotics, and it cleared up!. But!.!.after I pulled that core out, it didn't hurt nearly as bad!. It was totally disgusting!. I know people wouldn't normally do what I did (I wouldn't normally do it), but I didn't have any money for the doctor and it hurt bad enough to take durastic action!. Sorry to gross anyone out!Www@Answer-Health@Com
