Question: Does anyone know!.!.!.!.!?
I have been suffering from anxiety attacks for a couple months on and off!. I am about to make an appt w/ a psychologist to see about how to get this under control!. What I'm wondering is can someone tell me what to expect at the first appt!? Is there a lot of medical tests ran or is it mainly just discussing my symptoms!? If they say I need to take medication will I have to go thru a battery of tests before they are prescribed!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

relax!. your first visit would be mainly just talking!. the idea is to make you feel comfortable first!. and psychologists cannot prescribe you medications (unless you're in new mexico, usa)!. they are not doctors!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depends what kind of psychologist you see!.!. they will take a history and ask you questions!.!. I dont think there are any tests, however, if they put u on something they will want you to come back for follow ups and its crucial that you do!.
