Question: Swollen and itchy earlobes!! ouch!!?
ive had a second piercing on my ears since i was 12 now 23 but never really used them!.
i decided to buy small diamond stud earrings from zales and ive worn them for 5 days on the second piercing and today i had terrible itching all day and now my earlobes are swollen and very very itchy!!! so itchy it hurts! ouchies!!
the earrings are 14k white gold and have a screw backing!.!.
why are they itchy!? infection, why!? what do i do!?!?!? help!

mine do that too when i haven't worn earrings in a while!. its probably because the hole had to stretch a little for the earrings to fit through!. you can put them back in, but make sure you clean them every night!. don't do it with alcohol or peroxide because they kill the new cells that are growing!. my roommate in college cleaned hers with contact solution, so i tried that!. it worked wonders, not sure why though!. also you can clean them with the regular orange dial soap!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
my second piercing is very sensitive also, i cant wear just any kind of earring in that piercing, try cleaning your ears with alcohol and let them rest for a little while, clean the earrings too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Peroxide!. Clean your ears and use peroxide on them!. Let them rest, don't wear any earrings for a few days, and try not to scratch! Do the earrings contain nickel!? You may be allergic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
