Hepatitis B antigen?!

Question: Hepatitis B antigen!?
four years ago I tested positive for Hepatitis B, recently I tested again and found out that I still have the virus and the doctor said I am not yet immune to the virus, so after all these years, I am chronic Hepatitis B, so it means that I will carry the virus all my life !? Is there anyway to get rid of the virus!? My doctor told me to take another test for some DNA count or whatever, I did not get the result yet but I'm so nervous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, if you haven't cleared it by now, you have chronic Hep B (HBV)!. It can be transmitted by sex or by blood to blood contact!. Don't share razors or toothbrushes with anyone else in your household!.
Your doctor probably ordered a viral load test which looks for active virus in your blood!. There is a treatment, and it can clear the virus from your body, but you must stay on the medication for it to work!. There is also another new treatment, which is the medication they use for hepatitis C!. It has had some good results, but it is not 100% effective in everyone that tries it!. It is called Pegasys, which consists of weekly shots of interferon!. About 44% of the people that have tried Pegasys have cleared HBV (hepatitis B virus) on the medication!. It is like a mild form of chemo, so there are usually some side effects, like nausea or tiredness, but I have found in my support group that the more knowledeable people are before they go into treatment, the better they usually do!. Side effects can be managed and the treatment is temporary!. Then you'll have a better chance at living a healthier life!. Hep B can lead to liver cancer & cirrhosis, so it may be worth the treatment if it works!. I had hep c and cleared it on the treatment 8 years ago!. Best wishes to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
