Answers:
You have a type of herpes called "oral herpes!." It's not a sexually transmitted disease, and its so common that 50% to 80% of people have it by the time they are adults!.

Unfortunately, it is not curable!. And you can spread it to other people, even when you don't have symptoms!. In fact, that's how most people catch it - in childhood from kissing relatives!. You can also spread it to a lover's genitals, at which point it IS an STD!.

The antiviral that your doctor gave you should help the symptoms!. If you get frequent outbreaks, you may choose to take it all the time just to keep the outbreaks at a minimum!.

Fortunately, your first outbreak is most often your worst!. Usually, herpes symptoms get milder and milder as time goes by!.
