Answers:
If your daughter has had 14 lung infections within the span of 6 months she may have underlying dysfunction that does not allow her to clear mucous/debris properly from her lungs!. If she is not getting better it would be best to see another physician to have a workup done for other causes of multiple infections (eg, cystic fibrosis, ciliary dysplasia)!. Cystic fibrosis also interferes with absorption in the gut, which leads to steatorrhea (fatty stools) and weight loss!. Your child should be tested for these conditions if no other obvious diagnosis can be made!.

It should be determined whether your child truly has infections (fever, chills) or these have just been exacerbations of her asthma!. You cannot detect asthma through an x-ray!. Asthma is a diagnosis made on clinical grounds and response to medications (eg albuterol inhaler, steroids)!. If your child responds to such medication, you should find out what triggers her asthma and avoid these factors, such as pollen, exercise or cold weather!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

asthma would not necessarily show anything on an xray!. Ask for a referral to a pediatric pulmonologist!. Repeated chest infections are a red flag for asthma and meet the criteria for referral to a specialist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
