Answers:
Usually caused from not enough saliva flow at night time!. This can dry out your tongue leaving a layer of plaque on it, especially in the mornings!. Try brushing your tongue really well before bed and swishing with hydrogen peroxide!. Tastes bad, but just swish, spit, and do not rinse/eat/drink just go to bed!. This is what many over the counter rinses are based with, but minus all the extra additives!. It saves money and works better!. You don't have to dillute, but if you do it more than at bedtime you do!. Then just be sure to brush it really good in the morning also!. If you don't like peroxide, Crest Pro Health would be the next best b/c it lasts up to 12 hours!. Avoid alcohol based mouthrinses b/c they can often make the dry mouth worse and aggravate the problem!. You can also get a tongue scraper or electric toothbrush for a better scrub!. If it doesn't brush off you may need to have it checked just to be sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you breathe through your mouth at night!? A furry tongue can be made worse by a dry mouth!. Smoking can make it worse!. The fur can get stained by food and drink and appear brown, yellow or even black!.

The fur isn't necessarily a sign of dirt, disease or poor oral hygiene!. Everyone has little hairlike things on their tongue which are normally shed regularly!. But in some people the hairs get longer before they shed!. They are then more likely to trap food particles, giving the furry appearance!.

I've had a furry tongue on and off all my life, I am a mouth breather at night due to getting into that habit as a child because my adenoids were bad!. I've found that getting some diluted hydrogen peroxide and brushing my tongue with it gets the fur off and leaves my tongue clean!.

Drink plenty of water, chew sugarfree gum to help with saliva flow, and brush your tongue with peroxide at night, and your tongue will go back to looking pink and healthy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
