Question: Why do my sick kids caugh more at night then during the day!?

The most common source of night coughs is a viral infection!. They cough to clear their lungs of the bacteria, so it's a good cough if it's not persistent!. Make sure they have plenty of fluids!. See your doctor is they develop fever, cough for over a week, cough persistently, or cough up phlegm as they will need to rule out more serious reasons like asthma or allergy, or more serious viral infections!.

Fluids such as water, juice, or clear broth help to moisten the mouth and reduce coughing, especially the broth as it's warm!.

they usualy cough more at night becuase if there like me they have minor coughing attacks while there in bed its becasue there heads are not elevated so all the mucus and junks gets stuck in one section of there throat and it tickles so it makes them cough what i find hels me sleep with less coughing is to sleep with two nice thick pillows this way it keeps my head elevated i hope they feel better <3Www@Answer-Health@Com
