Answers:
Every asthmatic should have a rescue inhaler with them at all times!. Some people will take a shot of their inhaler before doing a sport!. That's fine however the inhalers with albuterol or something like it in them are really for periods of shortness of breath!. Singulair is now indicated for exercise induced asthma by the FDA!. This could be an option!.

Taking a medication before an episode is basically using it as a preventive medication!. Singulair is designed to be a preventive medication!. Ask your doctor about Singulair and/or other controller meds!.

Go to your doctor and get an inhaler!. They will probably prescribe Albuterol or Xopenex!. Both help with "exercise induced" asthma which is what it sounds like that you have!. You need to make sure they give you what is called a spacer so you take the medicine properly!.

Take the prescribed amount of puffs (2 usually) approximately 15 minutes before you exercise and see how you do!. :) In MOST cases that works just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You SHOULD try to get an inhaler to use!. I have the same problem, my asthma only occurs while playing sports -mostly running!. If you take the inhaler proactively though it helps!. Just two puffs before physical excersice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
