Possible diabetes?!
Question: Possible diabetes!?
I had Gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy!. ( I was in denial but techically I was diagnosed) anyway!. My daughter is now 6 months and I have been feeling like crap before and after meals, I still haver some BS testing supplies so I have checked my BS a few times just over the past few days and it has average to be about 145 each time this is at least three hours after I eat!. I have also noticed that a tiny cut I got on my leg has taken months to heal, Is it possible that the diabtes never went away or that I do now, I know I need to go to the doc to see for sure but I need to wait a lil bit becasue I have no insurance, are these signs or am I just worried for nothing!?

It is important that you watch for any continuing signs that you may still be diabetic after giving birth!. These symptoms include:
*
Frequent urination
*
Persistent thirst
*
Increased sugar in blood or urine
Testing may be done a few months after the delivery to make sure your blood sugar levels have returned back to normal!.
Normal blood glucose levels (mg/dL) in people who do not have diabetes
Upon waking (fasting) 70 to 110
After meals 70 to 140
Target blood glucose levels in people who have diabetes
Before meals 90 to 130
1 to 2 hours after the start of a meal less than 180
Hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) 70 or below

Try taking your blood sugar first thing in the morning, that's the best way to make the diagnosis!. If it's over 125, then you may well have diabetes (in fact, if it's over 100 that's abnormal, but you need 126 and up on a fasting blood sugar - and it needs to be repeatable, to make the diagnosis)!.
For a random blood sugar, 145 is not bad, but it's hard to tell, fasting is much easier to interpret!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
