Is my doctor not taking this seriously enough?!

Question: Is my doctor not taking this seriously enough!?
I have been having extreme pain in my right side kinda by my belly button but of to the side further!. I have been nauseous and throwing up, and pushing on the spot that hurts and releasing hurts really bad!. It started out as an overall pain around my belly button kind of, then move to the right and is burning and stabbing in one place!. I have no appetite!. i went to the doctor who ran blood tests and an ultrasound and said everything looked normal and gave me pain pills and sent me home!. The next night i was hurting so bad even with the pills, i had to go in to the er!. They did a ct and said it looked normal, though i have a fever of 100!.3!. They gave me stronger pain meds but its just getting worse and worse!. im worried that it is appendicitis and it is going to rupture but they have me so drugged up i might not know its rupturing!. It still hurts even through pain medicine!. Has anyone ever had appendicitis that didnt show up on tests!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, it is possible for it to not show up on tests!. No test is 100% accurate!. "There is no definitive test for diagnosing appendicitis!." according to medical literature!. For example, blood tests will come back negative in 10% of people who DO have appendicitis!.

Here's one recommendation I found for difficult cases, like yours seems to be: "In difficult cases, the surgeon will then have the option of admitting the patient for serial examinations!." Basically, they keep you in the hospital and keep checking you!.

Also, (and I know this will sound gross) did they do a rectal exam!? They probably should have!. Other than that, it seems like they're doing what they should!. You just need to let them know that your symptoms are persisting, and they'll keep checking!.

Medicine is not an exact science!. A proper diagnosis relies on the patient relaying information back to the doctor about the effectiveness of the initial treatments!. Don't take it as a given that the initial treatment (in this case pain killers) is the correct one!. It's just a best guess that will be corrected if you continue to give feedback!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would seek a second opinion!. Explain to the doctor exactly what you said here and take all the pain medications with you to show him what is not working for you!. Could be something more, and with a temp it means there is an infection somewhere in the body causing the white blood cells to activate to fight it!. Seriously, seek a second opinion!. Goodluck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should find another doctor and have some more tests done!. Usually a fever is a sign of infection or virus!. If you have lost your appetite then it could be as simple as a type of bacterial flu!. They can only give you antibiotics for it but they don't help much and the pain is much worse then a viral flu!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

seek a SECOND opinion FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR!
these symptoms sounds extrememly similar to what happened to my cousin!. And the doctor just diagnosed it as a cold!. It could be more serious than that!.

best not to take chancesWww@Answer-Health@Com

You may be experiencing chronic appendicitis!. I had the same symptoms (lab work came back normal, low temp, great pain nausa/vomiting) and they were going to rule it out when I saw a surgeon!. Get a second opinion!.

Dr!. Tommy SkeltonWww@Answer-Health@Com

In my best guess, it sounds like you might have appendicitus!. You need to talk to a docter!. If the one you have wont listen, then go to a different one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the medicine is not working and it's getting worse i would get a second opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are not going to outsmart modern medicine
a lot of it is all in your head
just trust your doctor, dont doubt his jurisdiction and be tough
dont pity yourself for pretending to be illWww@Answer-Health@Com

Did you have to drink contrast before your scan!? That would be the standard for detecting appendicitis!. You may also have an ovarian cysts!. Do you know if blood cultures were drawn when you had your lab work!? Blood cultures are little bottles, as opposed to the vials normally used to draw labs!. I don't know why no one is finding anything!. If I were you, I'd go back to the ER when a different doctor is working!. You might also want to try the ER in a different hospital!. I just don't think it's something you should ignore!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
